Fathers win custody in divorce situation if they plan ahead and don’t give in to the idea that Mothers always win.  Courts are not considering the best interests of the children and not making simply gender based decisions.  Often times Fathers think it is best for the Mothers to get custody.  They should maybe re think this decision because statistics show that the majority of child abuse occurs at the hands of custodial mothers.

It is true that Fathers typically hold down a full time job, but in today’s economy, most Mothers do as well.  Fathers need to rid themselves of the idea that the Mother should get custody.  Fathers can win custody and have a positive effect on their children and can win custody as easily as the Mother.

If, as the Father, you  want custody you should prepare to present your case to the court.  Get the straight facts and legal cases to “help” the attorney should he need it.   Make sure your home is best for the children…a studio apartment in the local singles building is not what the judge will be looking for.  Set your schedule up as best you can to accommodate the children, arranging for quality care when they are not in school and you are working.  Remember, typically, their Mother will need to do the same thing if she has the children, so why not you?
